Clinical Laboratory

K clinic has created one of the most modern clinical laboratories in Cyprus, equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and machines and it is fully computerized.

The staff of the laboratory has excellent scientific training with ongoing training and participation in seminars and medical conferences.

Consistency, accountability and respect for the patient is our primary concern as well as the credibility of the results, which is ensured by the strict application of internal and external quality control techniques.

The clinical laboratory is staffed with 10 people (Biochemists, Clinical laboratory Technologists), three secretaries and Doctor, Microbiologist.

It includes the following departments:

• Microbiological
• Biochemical
• Hematological
• Immunological
• Electrophoresis
• Molecular (Covid-19)

Microbiological department of the laboratory is equipped with

1. The VITEK 2 compact – BIOMERIEUX instrument, a state-of-the-art automated analyzer for identifying aerobic, anaerobic, demanding bacteria and fungi. The analyzer has an advanced expert system for controlling microbial resistance mechanisms while the antibiotic is given with MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration).
2. With the ALIFAX IDone (ROCHE) analyzer that provides fast identification of microorganisms (within one (1) minute) from crops
3. An automated blood culture system BACTEC.

The immunological department is equipped with the most modern Biochemical analyzers Cobas 6000 C501 (Modular system) productivity 1000 tests per hour and Cobas C311 productivity 480 tests per hour, which connected to the LIS ensure the speed and reliability of the results.

The hematological department it is supported

1. Two automatic hematology analyzers: HORIBA H2500 productivity of 120 samples per hour with simultaneous measurement of 55 parameters in each sample and HORIBA H500 productivity of 43 samples per hour with simultaneous measurement of 27 parameters in each sample.
2. An automatic system for measuring the sedimentation of red cells ESR ALIFAX Roller 20PN while in the coagulation section there are two coagulation analyzers in continuous operation, the Sysmex CA 500 and HORIBA G400 DDi.

For the diagnosis of COVID-19 there are 2 PCR method analyzers, Automatic, Closed System of the company ABACUS Diagnostica, where all the stages of the PCR method are integrated in individual test chips.

Thursday 08.00 – 19.00
Saturday 08.00 – 13.00
