Aretaeio Hospital is equipped with “Lightspeed 8x”, a multi-dimensional CT scanner. This specific scanner provides the possibility of three-dimensional reconstructions where appropriate.
All the usual CT examinations are performed in the department, as well as:
Musculoskeletal tests with three-dimensional reformations
High Resolution Computed Tomography of the lung, the internal acoustic meatus and the paranasal sinuses
Aortic, abdominal arteries angiography; renal angiogram, carotid and cerebral angiography, lower extremities angiography
Virtual colonoscopy
In the Computed Tomography department, diagnostic biopsies from anywhere on or in the body can also be performed, as well as puncture aspiration and drainage of abscesses or other pathological collections.
