Curriculum Vitae

Dr Joseph graduated from the University of Wales college of Medicine in the UK (MBBCh) and specialised in Oxford University obtaining a double accreditation in internal medicine and rheumatology.

He is president of the Cyprus Rheumatologists’ Association and chairman of the scientific committee of the same association since 2014. He was vice chairman of the Cyprus Osteoporosis Association from 2005 until it ceased to exist in 2014. He was accepted as fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London (FRCP London) in 2017.

He is clinical professor at University of Nicosia Medical School where he holds amongst other posts, the post of Chair of Clinical Education responsible for all clinical training of the medical students of the university.

Dr Joseph deals with all aspects of internal medicine and rheumatology with special interests including rheumatoid and other inflammatory arthritis, the epidemiology of rheumatic diseases, public information on rheumatic diseases, student education and cardiovascular disease in rheumatic diseases.

Services offered as outpatient or inpatient care include:

• All aspects of general internal medicine including investigation and treatment of difficult cases.
• Dealing with simple musculoskeletal pain including neck pain, back pain, tendonitis, arthralgia and myalgia.
• Diagnosis of arthritis and related conditions.
• Long term treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, spondyloarthropathies, osteoarthritis, gout, and other joint diseases.
• Diagnosis and management of connective tissue diseases including lupus, Sjogren's syndrome and scleroderma.
• Diagnosis and management of vasculitis
• Investigation and treatment of bone diseases including osteoporosis and Paget's disease of
bone.
